Overview of completed infrastructure projects and supervision experience across different sectors.
Between 2017 and 2021, construction works were carried out under two separate construction contracts, while supervision was provided under a single supervision contract in which AS Taalri Varahaldus also participated as a subcontractor.
In 2016 and 2017, environmental improvements and aviation safety upgrades were carried out on the airside at Tallinn Airport, with a construction value of approximately EUR 34.5 million.
The objective of the works was to improve driving comfort and traffic safety. The existing 1+1 road section was rebuilt into a 2+1 road over 2.5 km, improving conditions for all road users and raising the level of traffic safety.
The third construction phase of the Tartu eastern bypass is a 1.56 km road section from the Lammi Street roundabout to Rapina Road. In addition to the new section, parts of Moisavahe Street, Nolva Street and Soojuse Road were also rebuilt.
In 2015 and 2016, the Porguvalja interchange and the Juri distributor roundabout were built on the Tallinn ring road between km 9.7 and 11.6, with AS Taalri Varahaldus participating as a subcontractor. The project value was nearly EUR 6.4 million.
In 2014 and 2015, Phase 5 of the Tartu west bypass was built, with a construction value of nearly EUR 8 million.
In 2014 and 2015, the Nehatu bridges on the Tallinn-Narva highway were designed and built, with a construction value of nearly EUR 3.7 million.
In 2014 and 2015, the second carriageway on the Kodasoo-Lasna sections of the Tallinn-Narva highway was reconstructed, with AS Taalri Varahaldus participating as a subcontractor. The construction value was nearly EUR 5.6 million.
In 2015, design and construction works were carried out to complete the unfinished portion of the Kroodi overpass. This included preparation of the technical design needed to complete Kroodi I overpass, finalization of the structure and transfer of traffic onto the extension of Vana-Narva Road, after which the Vana-Narva Road railway crossing was removed.
During the hot-in-place recycling works, the pavement was rehabilitated within the existing road limits. Additional profile milling and pothole repairs were also carried out on some sections. As part of the project, approximately 65 km of roads in nine different sections across Estonia were paved on top of hot-recycled base layers over a six-month period. In total, more than 650,000 m2 of asphalt wearing course was laid. Particular attention during supervision was paid to the temperature of the asphalt being placed, and thermal cameras were used for this purpose. The construction value of the project exceeded EUR 4.9 million.
Between 2012 and 2015, Phase 2 of the Tartu bypass was designed and built, with AS Taalri Varahaldus participating as a subcontractor, primarily providing owner supervision for the Ihaste bridge construction works.
Construction and reconstruction of the Aru Farm crayfish ponds took place in two phases between 2004 and 2006 (contract value about EUR 510,000) and between 2012 and 2015 (contract value about EUR 560,000). In total, 5 new crayfish ponds with a combined water surface area of 7,000 m2 were built and 3,300 m2 of existing pond area was reconstructed. Earthworks totaled 19,600 m3. Geosynthetics were used in the pond construction to minimize water loss.
In 2015, an artificial rapid was created across the full width of the river at the location of the former dam. The rapid is about 18 m long and about 11 m wide, with a fall of 0.7 m, or 3.8%. The lower layer consists of boulders and crushed stone covered with geotextile. Larger boulders with diameters from 100 to 1100 mm were placed on the textile in a checkerboard pattern, and the surrounding areas were covered with a 0.2 to 0.4 m layer of smaller stones. To allow canoeists to pass, a deeper and more evenly graded channel approximately 2 m wide was formed along the right bank of the river.
In 2014, construction was carried out on the Kurna-Luige section of Main Road No. 11, with a construction value of nearly EUR 4.5 million.
Phase 1 of the Tartu east bypass, completed in 2012 and 2013, covers the section between Voru Street and Turu Street and forms part of the 11.8 km eastern bypass. The main road is part of the TEN-T network and connects the E263 Tallinn-Tartu-Voru-Luhamaa and E264 Johvi-Tartu-Valga highways. The project construction value was nearly EUR 15 million.
In 2012 and 2013, Phase 4 of the Tartu west bypass was built, with a construction value of nearly EUR 15 million.
In 2007 and 2008, the Puurmani interchange on the E263 Tallinn-Tartu-Voru-Luhamaa highway was built, with a construction value of nearly EUR 8 million.
In 2012 and 2013, the Johvi viaduct and its connecting ramps at km 1.71-2.32 on Main Road No. 3 Johvi-Tartu-Valga (E264) were reconstructed, with a construction value of nearly EUR 8.6 million.
In 2013, the water management project for Ramsi small borough and Pari village in Parsti municipality was carried out, with a construction value of nearly EUR 2 million.
In 2012, the water management project in Suure-Jaani municipality was carried out, with a construction value of nearly EUR 5 million.
Since 2012, we have provided owner supervision for the Estonian Maritime Administration on reconstruction works involving both navigation beacons and lighthouses. Supervision has been provided for the renewal of the Vaike-Pakri and Suur-Pakri beacons as well as the Mehikoorma lighthouse and the Vormsi beacon. The installation of both the Vaike-Pakri and Suur-Pakri beacons was carried out by helicopter in accordance with the client’s requirements.
Phase 1 of the Kroodi grade-separated junction was carried out in 2011 and 2012, with a total value of nearly EUR 9 million.
In 2011, railway crossing arrangements were reconstructed on State Secondary Road No. 39 Tartu-Jogeva-Aravete at km 29.5-32.2 and on local roads No. 14200 Pikkjarve-Torve and No. 14204 Kaarepere-Palamuse, with a construction value of nearly EUR 4 million.
The Koidula rail border station development project carried out between 2008 and 2012 included the organization of several public procurements, but primarily expert review and owner supervision during the construction of roads, railways and buildings. The total value of the development project was approximately EUR 57 million.
In 2011, the Vaike-Maarja water management project was completed, with a construction value of nearly EUR 1 million.
Construction of the Kukruse-Johvi section of the E20 Tallinn-Narva highway was carried out in 2009 and 2010, with a construction value of more than EUR 34 million.
Rehabilitation works on the Tartu-Tabivere section of the Tartu-Jogeva-Aravete road began in 2006, with a construction value of nearly EUR 8 million.
In 2005, reconstruction works were carried out on the E20 Tallinn-Narva highway between km 17.4 and 62.4, with a construction value of nearly EUR 20 million.
In 2004, rehabilitation works were carried out on the Tallinn-Narva highway (E20) and the Tallinn-Parnu-Ikla highway (E67) as part of the Via Baltica II project, with a construction value of approximately EUR 30 million.
