Tartu East Bypass Phase 1

2012 and 2013.

Project overview

Phase 1 of the Tartu east bypass, completed in 2012 and 2013, covers the section between Voru Street and Turu Street and forms part of the 11.8 km eastern bypass. The main road is part of the TEN-T network and connects the E263 Tallinn-Tartu-Voru-Luhamaa and E264 Johvi-Tartu-Valga highways. The project construction value was nearly EUR 15 million.

The project included construction of 3 km of Ringtee Street as a 3+3 lane road together with ramps and part of Voru Street, 2.3 km of access roads and 6 km of pedestrian and bicycle paths, the grade-separated interchange at Voru Street with bridge structures, the Turu Street roundabout, and reconstruction of the signalized intersections at Jalaka and Tahe streets.
